Connect an assistant

Moola ships a connector: an MCP server that lets an assistant you already use, such as Claude, read your workspace and record plans and bookkeeping on your behalf. Moola runs no model of its own for this. Your assistant, on your subscription, does the thinking.

What it can and cannot do

Everything the connector can change is something you could change yourself in the app, and every change shows up in Activity.

Connect from Claude

claude.ai, Claude Desktop, or the Claude mobile app

1. Open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Paste https://moola.so/api/mcp and continue.
3. A Moola sign-in page opens. Sign in, then approve the scopes listed on the consent page.

The first call opens the same sign-in and consent flow in your browser.

Connect from another assistant

Any client that supports MCP over streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 can connect. Point it at the address above; Moola supports PKCE and dynamic client registration, so no pre-shared keys are needed. A ChatGPT connector uses the same server; there is no separate ChatGPT-specific code.

Scopes

moola:write	Add or update manual accounts, set account types, change your milestone, recategorise transactions, and save plans into Health.
offline_access	Stay connected without signing in again for 30 days.

You choose which scopes to grant on the consent page. An app granted only moola:read cannot call any write tool.

Managing connected apps

Settings → Connected apps lists every assistant you have approved, with when it connected. Disconnect stops new access at once; a token already issued expires within 15 minutes.

Calls are limited to 120 a minute per connection.
