FAQ
Short answers to the questions we hear most.
Does Moola move money?
No. Bank access is read-only, and nothing in Moola, including connected assistants, can move money, pay bills, or change anything at your bank.
Why doesn't my chart go back further?
History is written from balance changes Moola actually sees. Daily snapshots start the day you add an account, and five-minute points are kept for 90 days. Moola does not invent earlier history.
My bank connection turned amber. What do I do?
The bank wants you to sign in again, usually after a password change or a security update on their side. Press Reconnect in Settings → Bank connections. History is kept. See Link a bank.
Why is "Bank data as of" hours old?
That timestamp is when Plaid last fetched from the bank itself, which depends on the institution. Pressing Refresh on Moola Plus asks the bank for fresh data, once an hour per institution.
Can I add an account that won't link?
Yes. Add it as a manual account and update the balance when you check it. There is no limit on manual accounts. See Add accounts.
Why does linking a bank ask for two-factor?
Because a linked bank makes every transaction visible to anyone who can sign in. An authenticator app or a passkey is required before the first link. See Sign-in security.
What does the Health coach see?
A de-identified assessment: category totals, ratios, and account kinds. Never account names, institutions, or numbers. See Health.
Can my partner see my accounts?
Only if you create a family and they join it, and even then you can mark any account private. See Families.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → Your data has CSV export, a JSON backup you can restore, and a full personal data export. See Privacy and your data.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Delete your account. It revokes bank access at Plaid, cancels any subscription, and deletes every row. It cannot be undone.
Where do I get help?
Write to privacy@milbo.co. Vulnerability reports go to the same address and are acknowledged within two business days.
